BUFFS STAY ALIVE;  COBRAS EVEN THEIR SERIES
The Theodore Buffaloes withstood a furious Wildcat rally, but held on to win and keep their season alive, 7-5.  Taylor Lang's second goal of the game with 3:03 remaining proved to be the winner.  Dryw Onslow and Travis Goebel also scored twice each.  Daniel Lamb added a single.  Tyler Rumpel, Dean Leach, Ries Mansuy, Dwight Wrubleski, and Maury Yablonski replied for the Wildcats.

In Canora, Graham Lamb's slapshot from the point with just 23 seconds remaining in regulation lifted the Cobras to a 2-1 victory over the Kelvington Wheat Kings.  The series is now tied at 2.  Todd MacMurchy also scored for the Cobras.  Lance Holowaty replied for the Wheat Kings.
COBRAS AND BUFFS WIN!
The Canora Cobras and Wadena Wildcats will have a chance to win their respective series' on home ice on Saturday night.

The Cobras beat the Kelvington Wheat Kings, 5-2, to take a 3-2 series lead.  Ryan Romanow, Todd MacMurchy, Graham Lamb, Justin Stupak, and Kevin Monatyrski all scored for the Cobras.  J.J. Johnson and Ryan Mottram replied for the Wheat Kings.

In Theodore, the Buffs stayed alive with a 6-1 win over the Wadena Wildcats.
BUFFS AND COBRAS TO MEET IN THE FINALS!
For the first time since 2005, the Canora Cobras are off to the FLHL finals and they will meet a familiar foe - the Theodore Buffaloes.  Each team won their respective game 7's on Sunday afternoon.

In Kelvington, the Cobras jumped out to a 3-0 lead 9:33 into the first period and held on for a 4-2 win.  Todd MacMurchy scored twice, and Brett Profit and Justin Stupak added singles.  Ryan Mottram and Matt Melrose replied for the Wheat Kings.

In Theodore, the Buffaloes completed a wild comeback, rallying from a 3 games to none deficit to win their final four games, including a 6-3 victory on Sunday.
BUFFS TAKE GAME ONE
Four goals in a 4:28 span midway through the third period was the difference in an 8-5 victory over the Canora Cobras in game one of the best of 7 league championship.

Travis Goebel, Taylor Lang, and Adam Dalshaug each scored twice.  Dustin Nehring and Daniel Lamb added singles.  Kevin Monastyrski, Nick Jonassen, Jon Hull, Carson Dennis, and Brett Profit replied for the Cobras, who saw an early 2-0 lead evaporate on 2 Buff power play goals.  The teams were tied at 2 after one and the Buffs held a 4-3 lead going in to the final period.  Scott Bilokreli picked up the win, while Jeremy Hrebenik took the loss in the nets. 

Game 2 goes Saturday night in Canora, beginning at 8:00.
BUFFS CONTINUE THE STREAK
Before a capacity crowd at the Canora Civic Centre, the Canora Cobras and Theodore Buffaloes put on a show for the fans.  In the end, it was Travis Goebel's goal on a furious scramble in front of the Cobra net 6 minutes into the third period that ended up as the game winner in a 2-1 Theodore victory.  Theodore leads the series, 2-0.

The teams were scoreless after one, but Taylor Lang put the Buffs on the board midway through the second.  Zack Woloshyn tied the game for the Cobras late in the second.

Both goaltenders were spectactular in their respective nets.  Devan Byblow made 42 saves in a losing cause.  Colby Trebish picked up the victory, making 35 saves.

Game 3 goes Friday night in Theodore.
WILD COMEBACK AND THE BUFFS ARE ONE WIN AWAY
The Canora Cobras were poised to get right back in the championship final series.  But, a Dustin Nehring goal with 25 seconds left sent the game into overtime.  4:20 into the extra frame, the Theodore Buffaloes scored again and stole a 4-3 victory, taking a 3-0 stranglehold in the best of 7 series.

Justin Stupak got the Cobras on the board in the first period for their first power play goal of the series.  Derrick Prieston tied the game 7 minutes later, also on the power play.  Brett Profit tipped in a Dalane Lamb shot with just 0.3 seconds remaining in the first to give the Cobras the lead again.

In the second, Travis Goebel scored for the Buffs.  The game remained tied until 6 minutes in the third period on a Ryan Romanow goal to give the Cobras a 3-2 lead.  The game stayed tied until the Buffs late goal in the third period.

Game 4 goes Saturday night in Canora at 8:00.
BUFFS WIN CHAMPIONSHIP!
For the fourth time in their history and for the second consecutive season, the Theodore Buffaloes have won the Fishing Lake Hockey League championship.  The Buffs beat the Canora Cobras on Saturday night, 5-0, to win the championship final in 4 consecutive games.

Colby Trebish stopped all 32 shots he faced in picking up the victory and the shutout.  The Buffs took an early 2-0 first period lead and cruised to the victory.  Travis Goebel scored twice, while Doug Weber, Dustin Nehring, and Daniel Lamb added singles.

Travis Goebel won his second consecutive John Hansen Award for being the Playoffs Most Valuable Player.
