WHEAT KINGS CAPTURE FLHL TITLE
The Kelvington Wheat Kings will have an opportunity to bring home their long-coveted Fishing Lake Hockey League championship trophy on Saturday night.  On Friday, the Wheat Kings defeated the Porcupine Blues 6-0 to take a 3-1 series lead in the best of 7 championship final.

Sean Patrick scored twice for the Wheat Kings.  Mason Nedjelski, Bradyn Melrose, Nicholas Grona, and Patrick Keller scored singles.  Derek Leidl picked up his second shutout of the series.

Game 5 goes Saturday night in Kelvington at 7:30.
One night after the two teams combined for 123 minutes in penalties, the Kelvington Wheat Kings and North East Warriors squared off again, but on this night, not one single penalty was called!  The Wheat Kings ended the Warrior season with an 11-4 victory, giving Kelvington a 4 game sweep in the semi-final.

John McCoshen had a hat trick for the Wheat Kings, while Nicholas Grona scored twice.  Bradyn Melrose, Greg Cayen, Lance Holowaty, Cole Melrose, Logan Boyes, and Scott Standish had singles.  Jake Hegenes had two goals for the Warriors with Devan Ashdown and Kennedy Constant scoring singles.

The Porcupine Blues also booked their ticket to the finals with a 7-5 victory over Foam Lake on Saturday night.  The win gives the Blues a 4 games to 1 series victory. 

Kody Dzurka and Travis Dennis each scored twice for the Blues.  Braden Messer, Brady Wearing, and Ryan Grona scored singles.  Jeff Lucky had 2 goals for the Flyers.  Tyler Goosen, Bret McMann, and Kruze Halyk also replied for the Flyers.
WHEAT KINGS & BLUES OFF TO FINALS
ONE WIN AWAY...
Scott Standish's second goal of the game midway through the third period proved to be the winner as the Kelvington Wheat Kings beat the Porcupine Blues 5-3 on Saturday night.  The victory gives the Wheat Kings a 4-1 series victory in the championship final and gives Kelvington their 15th FLHL title and first since 1988-89.

Bradyn Melrose, Ryan Grona, and Jeff Christianson each finished in a tie for the John Hanson Memorial Award handed out to the Playoffs MVP.
